If you’re searching for a peaceful coastal retreat away from the busy energy of Cebu City, Hunahuna Cliff Resort in Catmon offers a refreshing blend of ocean views, laid-back ambiance, and simple pleasures that make for a memorable getaway.

Perched along the rugged coastline of northern Cebu, the resort immediately welcomes visitors with its charming seaside architecture. The open-air bar and dining area, accented with blue-and-white stripes and rustic wood finishes, create a relaxed, beachy vibe. Hanging glassware and subtle decorative touches add character, while the gentle sea breeze completes the atmosphere.

During our visit, we simply spent our time relaxing and soaking in the breathtaking view. There’s something calming about sitting by the sea, listening to the waves, and letting time pass slowly—exactly the kind of experience Hunahuna offers.

One of the highlights of the experience is undoubtedly the view. The resort overlooks a vast stretch of calm, blue waters, where the horizon seems to stretch endlessly. From sunrise to late afternoon, the changing light paints the sea in different shades—perfect for photography or simply soaking in the scenery.
Guests can enjoy a variety of cozy spaces around the property. There’s a cliffside pool area where you can swim while gazing out at the ocean, as well as elevated terraces furnished with unique seating—ideal for unwinding, reading a book, or enjoying the company of friends. The resort’s design makes the most of its natural surroundings, integrating stone textures, greenery, and open spaces that connect you directly to nature.
In terms of rates, the entrance fee is ₱150 per person, making it an affordable spot for a day of relaxation. If you prefer a more comfortable setup, table rentals are available for ₱500—perfect for groups who want their own space to dine and hang out.
Dining at Hunahuna is equally enjoyable. We ordered tinolang manok, a classic Filipino chicken soup. The serving was generous—definitely good for sharing. While it leaned a bit on the salty side for our taste, it was still delicious and satisfying, especially when paired with refreshing fruit shakes like mango or watermelon.

Another distinctive feature is the resort’s proximity to the shoreline. During low tide, the rocky seabed reveals fascinating textures and patterns, offering a closer look at marine life and coastal formations. It’s a great opportunity for exploration and adds a unique dimension to the visit.

What makes Hunahuna Cliff Resort stand out is its balance between relaxation and scenic beauty. It’s not overly commercialized, which allows guests to truly disconnect and enjoy the quiet charm of Catmon. Whether you’re visiting for a day trip, a casual meal, or a short escape, the resort delivers an authentic coastal experience.
For those looking to explore beyond the usual tourist spots in Cebu, Hunahuna Cliff Resort is a destination worth adding to your list—where the cliffs meet the sea, and time seems to slow down just enough for you to enjoy the moment.
