Tucked away in the peaceful mountain roads of Licos, Danao, our little property is surrounded by the kind of scenery that instantly slows life down. The drive itself already feels like part of the destination — winding roads shaded by towering trees, quiet provincial paths, and breathtaking views of Cebu’s rolling green mountains.
Along the way, sunlight filters through mango trees and coconut palms, creating a relaxing tunnel of nature. Some parts of the road are narrow and rustic, but every turn rewards you with fresh air, peaceful surroundings, and postcard-worthy landscapes. It’s the kind of place where you can hear birds in the distance and feel the calmness of the countryside.
One of the most beautiful moments during the trip is seeing the overlooking mountain views stretching endlessly across the horizon. The greenery, the blue skies, and the peaceful atmosphere make Licos feel untouched and refreshingly simple.
As we explored the area around our lot, we also met a charming little resident — a bantam hen quietly nesting beside several eggs. There were actually two bantam hens staying around the area before, but one eventually flew away and never came back. The remaining hen now seems to have fully claimed the space as her own peaceful corner.
The community around the area also adds to the charm. Small homes, basketball courts, simple roadside scenes, and friendly locals remind you of how warm and grounded life in the province can be. Everything moves at a slower, calmer pace compared to the city.
Our lot in Licos may still be a simple piece of land for now, but every visit already feels special. It’s not just about the destination — it’s about the journey through nature, the quiet mountain atmosphere, and the small moments that make countryside living feel so meaningful.
